Any substitute teachers here?
I was told this weekend that I should look into being a substitute teacher as a way to make some money. I was wondering what the requirements are (degree, experience, etc.). I have an AA in Psychology, but I didn't know if that was enough. Is anyone a subsitute teacher or a teacher that would know what I would need to do? TIA!
Re: Any substitute teachers here?
I enjoy subbing, but since I'm really looking for a full-time teaching position, it's also frustrating for me to go into classrooms of teachers that make me think, "why are you even a teacher?!"
I would start by calling around to the districts that you are thinking of subbing for and asking to speak to thier substitute office and get their policy for signing up. Some districts fill up thier sublists quickly (think the more "popular" districts like Dublin, Worhtington, etc.) or at least can't promise you jobs that often because they have so many people on their lists. However, if you are up for it, CPS is always in need of good subs.
