Recommend your cell phone!!

I'm with Verizon and my time is up to get a new phone.  I'm looking at the Motorola Razor.  Does anyone have this currently?  If so, what do you like and dislike about it?  If not, do you like your current phone?  TIA!

Re: Recommend your cell phone!!

  • ok my brother would totally kill me for this but I say drop verizon and get an iPhone. I am not really a gadget person but I LOVE mine and my dh does too. Really its not that much more expensive when you consider the free Internet and the easy one touch email. It is soooio user friendly. I heart my iPhone :)

  • I HATE my Razor!!!!! My battery doesn't hold a charge and the phone gets so hot that sometimes I can't hold it to my ear. As soon as I can get a new phone I'm getting one (not sure what kind just yet). Good riddens to the Razor. My friend hates hers too and is on her third battery.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

  • Dh and I just switched to Verizon, we both got the new Chocolates.  I don't have any complaints so far, and I haven't dropped a call yet.  I don't remember hearing good things about the Razor, but you should look it up on cnet.com.  I did some research on there when we were looking.  HTH
  • Also, Verizon it supposed to come out with and "iphone" later this month, it is supposed to be called the Voyager.  DH plans on getting that when it comes out.
  • I like my Razor and have no issues with it. Brandon's had issues with his battery keeping charge. I like it because it can fit in my back pocket easily if I don't want to carry a purse.
  • The Voyager comes out 11/18. We have a friend who works for Verizon so he gets the new gadgets early. He just got his and loves it. He's warned us about the Razor...constant problems. He doesn't think Motorola makes that great of a phone anymore.
  • I am glad you posted this questions-DH and I are getting ready to switch to Verizon-we have nextel and it sucks soooo bad!!!! I used to have verizon years ago and have no clue what phone to get-nothing fancy!!!!!

  • I got a razor about a year ago because I wanted a pink phone.  I haven't had any issues with the battery and I charge it about once a week.  I wait until it's on only one bar to charge it.  I don't talk on the phone that much though.  Mine tends to lock up at times.

DH has an LG VX8600 and it is a GREAT phone.  I think that the LG phones are all better than Motorola phones.
  • So glad this was posted as well.  We are up for new phones now and can't decide what to get.

Question for the Voyager - does it require a data plan like the Smart Phones do?

I have a Razr now and don't like it - but only because of the size.  It's too thin for me to use it "hands free" (i.e., on my shoulder).  I've never had batter or dropped call problems.  I don't like it as much as my Motorola E815 though, but the screen died on it (which is how I got the Razr).

  • I have the old choc. phone.  No problems.  My sister in law had a razor and didn't like it.  She said if she ever dropped it that it broke and she needed to have it repaired.
I like verizon, have had it for about 10 years.
  • Just don't get a Motorola Q.  They suck.

I'd love to have an iPhone but until they make it so that you can tap it and not have to touch it with the pads of your fingers, I can't use it because I have nails!
  • Thanks everyone for your thoughts!  So I'm definitely staying away from any Motorolas.  I won't be switching service providers.  I haven't really had a problem with Verizon and we get a discount through my work, so I just need to see what else they have that I like.  I'll look into the LGs I guess.
