Skybus question

I'm flying Skybus in December, and not checking any bags, just taking a carry on.

I'm thinking of doing an investigational drug study, and the drug is a liquid in a large bottle (bigger than 3 oz). From what the RN at the research group said, it doesn't sound like the drug will have an "official" prescription, in terms of having my name/Dr./ect printed on the box or bottle.

Is it even possible to take this with me, or will I have to decline the study?
They didn't have you where I come from...never knew the best was yet to come...

Re: Skybus question

  • If you decided to do the study, you would need to check the bag and hope they don't confiscate it.  Or pour some into an approved-size bottle and put it in your carry-on and hope they don't ask what it is.

  • I would just pour it into one of the 3 oz approved bottles. If you aren't going for long, you shouldn't need more than that, I would imagine. Or you could always put it in 2 3oz bottles if need be.
  • From what I've seen they don't allow liquids larger than 3oz. I just flew Skybus for the 2nd time this past week.(Unless it was in a checked bag, which is only $5.00) You may want to try to contact Skybus on their website to confirm.
  • i agree about just splitting it into smaller travel sized bottles. depending on what it looks like, you can even slap a label on there like "hairspray" or something. i bought a little travel bag from the Andersons that had 4 travel bottles and preprinted labels "shampoo" "conditioner" etc.
  • If it's clearly medicine, I think you can declare it at the security checkpoint.  You'd have to double check with the TSA website.
