Weekend BDay Plans for DH?

I need something/some place to go with DH for his BDay this weekend. I would like to do dinner and a hotel. Any suggestions? I have looked at Easton, but only the Hilton has rooms open and it's $400!

Re: Weekend BDay Plans for DH?

  • If you are looking to stay in Columbus, what about the Lofts downtown? Then you could do dinner in the Short North or German Village...Martini's, Mitchell's, M, Hyde Park, Lindey's, Barcelona, G Michael's are all suggestions.
  • The Melting Pot is a fantastic place to go for a romantic birthday dinner.  It is at Easton, though, so there wouldn't be a hotel close by (and the Hilton is not worth $400!!)

I also really like House of Japan.  There is one at Tuttle, and there are several hotels surrounding the restaurant.

There's a Hampton Inn (I think) accross the street from the convention center and there are tons of great restaurants around there and in the Short North.  All within walking distance.  Martini's, Marcella's, Rigsby's, RJ Snappers and Hyde Park (YUM!).

  • Hi sweetie! I would second the pp's recommendation of staying downtown - I love the Lofts hotel and there is also a Drury Inn right across the street from that which tends to be substantially cheaper than the Lofts. Good places for dinner in that area are Martini's and the Japanese Steakhouse (my personal fave). Have fun! ;)
