  • I hated being in the closet. I came out to family and friends first then decided i didn't feel like hiding the best part of my life anymore. I could never not be out at a job again. It just wouldnt work for me.

  • People i work with knew before some of my family did.
I write sexy books. I read all the books. I love dresses & macarons.

  • I have pics of me & Sandy all over my office wall and I mention her in my discussions about my personal life. But I don't know if everyone "gets" it so to speak. I don't really worry about it. It's not hidden and if they are intelligent, they will certainly get it. If nothing else, they can certainly see me walking around with a smile all the time 'cause I'm just so darn HAPPY! ha ha!

  • Yes, totally out.

Two months after I started working here, I got randomly selected to post pictures on the "Superstar" bulliten board in the office (people put up pics of themselves as kids, with their families, etc.) I put up a wedding picture and put a caption that said "L and me on our wedding day - March 8, 2003." People got it quickly then.Stick out tongue

  • I chose Other because I just started a new job, and it hasn't come up yet! But as a rule, I am always out.  At work, at home, at the grocery store, etc.

  • When I lived in Colorado I was not out at work, I worked with a lot of VERY conservative rich doo-doo heads who loved to talk politics, so I kept to myself.  Now that I live in Seattle and most people here are pretty hip and groovy and "ACCEPTING" (not that icky work tolerant, that word makes me twitch).  I'm very out at work, and I even invited my boss to our wedding back in October.  Working at Microsoft, it's a very open and inclusive environment, I'm very lucky!
  • I didn't come out at one of the jobs I had after my 1L year of law school. It was one of those things where the office was very small (only 3 other people, all older), I was "feeling things out" and by the time I decided it would be OK to be out, it would have been really awkward because I had spent the whole summer not mentioning the fact that I lived with a spouse. Well, I'm still in touch with the judge I worked for and he did my swearing-in for the Oregon bar, and you can imagine how much more awkward it would be to bring it up NOW, four years after we met . . . so yeah, safe to say I'm going to be out at every job I have from now until forever! :)
