Another Memphis travel question
Minnesota nestie here looking for Memphis advice, too! DH and I will be there at the end of April and are looking for a place to stay on a budget.
We're thinking about camping or renting a cabin at Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park. Has anyone camped there? How are the sites and bathrooms?
We've looked at hotels, vrbo and homeaway.com. Any other ideas for finding cheap lodging?
Thanks! I can't wait to visit.
Tired after a long morning of hiking and swimming.
Re: Another Memphis travel question
I know this doesn't help you right this second but... when you come into town there are 3 visitor centers. One is near Graceland, one is off of 40 if you're coming from the east, and another is downtown next to the river. These visitor centers have these books full of discounted hotels with coupons and what not that may help. My in laws always do this when they come into town and it usually works out to be pretty darn cheap. One place that always seems to be in it in the Memphis Plaza. It's off of Sycamore View so it's out east of Memphis but still very accessible to most places. You might also try looking on travelzoo for deals or put in a priceline bid or something.
Sorry I can't help you on the camping part.
