can i ramble for a minute?

i'm having an interesting day so far. i overslept this morning, but really it wasn't a big deal--and it actually meant that i got to see my wife briefly this morning and give her a kiss on my way out, which is always nice!

then i called our cell company to have them suspend her number because she lost her phone sometime yesterday (we think at the bar where she had darts). no one has tried to use it yet, so if anyone has it or finds it they can't do anything with it now. in the process, though, i found out that she's eligible for an upgrade so that's good. seemed weird to me since we just upgraded last year and have another year on the contract, but the woman i talked to double-checked and who am i to argue?

i also got a call about some software i ordered about a month ago that i've been having issues getting. the first one came in broken so they reordered it, then it was on backorder. they called me on tuesday to let me know it was in so i stopped at the store last night to pick it up, and it was the wrong version. the woman called me this morning and said they did actually have the right one but pulled the wrong box and because of all the issues she's going to give me a 10% discount, which they never do so i'm happy.

so these things keep happening that seem kind of bad on the surface, but so far they're turning out to be pretty good.

and my mom is taking me out for a sushi lunch today. yum!
