14 and 5 year old bday gifts

Lady's I need your help. I have a Bday to go to in April for my 2nd cousins. Their bdays are 2 days apart and they always have a bday party together.

Both are girls, what do I get them? I never know and I have ended up getting gift cards for the past 3 years. HELP!

TIA

Re: 14 and 5 year old bday gifts

  •  The 5 year old I'm guessing might be happy with something like Dora? I keep thinking what I would want as a 14 year old and I would probably be yelling cell phone! Or that new nintendo ds! LOL

Maybe you can call their mom and find out what they've been wanting?

Perhaps the moms on here can help...Help!

  • I agree, check with their mom about what they like.  Maybe you can get the 14 year old a CD or clothes and the 5 year old something related to a character she likes (like a Dora game).

  • For the 5 yr old, how about a movie... didn't Disney release Pinocchio?  With maybe a cute tshirt of the move, or some hair accessories?  Or maybe a dress up kit.  My 4.5 yr old niece loves to play dress up, and loves to watch movies.

Now for a 15 yr old, that is tough.  I think GC are your best bet.  How about something different like GC to the movies?  At that age I was always going to the movies.  If you want to get her a gift, how about a top or dress from Forever 21 with a cute necklace or earings or bracelet.  Girls that age are all into fashion and the latest hot items.  Make sure to get a receipt to attach in case it doens't fit!

  • Those are great ideas Jackie thanks.

Also thanks girls I just emailed their mom.

I love the idea of the movie GC for the 15 year old. My godchild is 15 and she would definately enjoy that. Everything else for a 15 year old is hard.

For the 5 year old movie, toy, doll..... it is easier ( in my opinion). Do you see her often to know what specific them she likes?

  • No I dont see them a lot, they live in Ft Myers. I emailed their mom and she said "they like everything mostly" the oldest one likes to read". No help!

So what I think I"m going to do is. I have chalk board paint, so I'm going to get some kind of board and cut out a horse shape for the 5 year old (she loves horses) and a star or something for the 14 yr old,& get them some chalk, then they can have a chalk board in their rooms.

I just came up with that idea as I was sitting here.

  • For the 14 Y/O: CDs and stuff are not in style anymore for the tweens... If you want to get her something Music related, get her an iTunes GC (if she has an iPod - I would check with her mom), or if she's a gamer, you can get her a GC for Gamestop or something. Most of the kids in my classes (6th grade) are into their iPods, and cell phones. A lot of them also LOVE anything from Claire's Accessories, or places like that. You could always make her a cute little bag with various little things inside (i.e. head bands, earrings, rings, etc...)

For the 5 Y/O: Just get her a cute doll or toy or something. They are not that picky at that age :)

  • Oh boy. I have no clue about the 14 year old......but for the 5 year old, yes Dora or Abby Cadabby? Or a  princess outfit complete w/ a tiara and heels?

Ugh I'm so out of touch these days, lol.
