i'm looking for a nice, moderately priced place to take the hub for his birthday next week. the west side has tons of options, but i'd rather stay as close to home as i can while still going somewhere nice.

Re: pop champagne & dessert bar in pasadena
Is it just me or does everyone in their photo gallery look awfully young?
The menu looks a little small. I would go to a real wine bar and order a few appetizers and some dessert, I think.
I've walked by it a couple times and it looks pretty cool for an after dinner hang out. Everytime I've been by the place has been empty it could be cause it's 5P since I never get out late anymore...so I don't know what the vibe is like in the evenings... oh the good ole days!
I guess that's true - how would I know? What is a good place for a nice lunch in Pasadena? DH and I have a sitter on Saturday afternoon!
Alisa,
How about Twin Palms in Old Town...nice menu, outdoor setting, and good strolling after lunch on Colorado.
Le Grande Orange is yummy Alisa. And you can still walk to Old Town from there if you would like.
I have not been to POP champagne but would love to hear what you think if you go. ?
I went a few weeks ago with a bunch of people. It was very fun. I had a peach belini and a mimosa--yumm!
We also had apetizers, they were good. If you like cheese plates (me + cheese = LOVE) they are great.
Fun atmosphere, not too loud or crowded either. I'd go again. Hope this helps.
