Re: xp: wood/laminate flooring

  • First off, I have to say that Abby is just ADORABLE!

Second, although I don't live in Miami anymore, I still have some recs. I have laminate wood flooring in my house (Pergo) because we have 2 dogs and I knew that carpet would be a bad idea (I'm up north, so carpet is still "in" here). Anyway, if you're looking for materials, I would check Lumber Liquidators. They're a warehouse, which means you save $$$. I'm not sure if they do installations though, but it's worth a shot. Another option is to go through Lowe's or Home Depot. I think they guarantee their work, so if it buckles or bows, or there's gaps then they'll come right out and take care of it. If you want to save yourself some more $$ you can try installing it yourself (I promise it's not hard at all). Either way, GL :)

  • thank you!!!  we were going to go with ikea, and we'd have to do it ourselves, but the style of laminate we liked was discontinued.  I'm going to check out lumber liquidators first, because lowe's is sooooo expensive!
  • We went with Costco laminate floors It was the most economical way we found and they had a floor we liked for a good price.

Check out Costco and see if they have something you like nowadays.

PS Your little one is adorable. God Bless =) Precious

  • Your daughter is precious! Congrats!!

We did our laminate flooring with Artistic wood floring. They are located out West by tamiami airport but they come to you. THey gave us a greeeat price. We did our entire 2nd floor (pics in my married bio). They threw in new baseboards for free.

  • I can't rec any specific places to buy it, but all I can tell you is - don't go cheap! Our condo had it when we moved in and I love how it looks, but it gets messed up very easily. Any spill or moisture makes it immediately start to swell and get deformed if you don't clean it INSTANTLY. This makes it a nightmare in the kitchen and the bathroom. It's been an issue with the dogs. Also, if we drop something heavy, it can chip. I've heard that Pergo is good quality and holds up to a lot of wear and tear.
