Re: okay.

  • Get back to work! Of course I'm in the middle of a HUGE event and yet I take 5 minutes to check in on the board.  So perhaps I'm not the one to listen to.

This made me LOL. I am SO guilty of this! Sometimes the busier I am, the more frequently I check in. It does help me calm my mind, but still, I know I should be working! ::scurries off to finish memo for boss::

  • well, that's true, it is definitely more fun than work!

i'm looking at the cherry suites like this one. i'm not a fan of some of the design elements, but i really like how it converts to a bed...

  • and this one. i like the style of the bed better, but don't like the rest of the set as well.
  • Work shmirk, baby stuff is much more fun!
  • Pretty!

Here is some anecdotal advice for convertible cribs:

If either of you are remote height challenged (I'd say under 5'4 or so) you might want to consider a crib where one of the rails drops.  L can't lower the kids into their cribs (the mattress is on the lowest settings now, of course) if they have fallen asleep and we need to put them in their beds. It doesn't happen often - but still.  And she can't do things like put a kid's socks back on him (Carter needs to sleep in socks, but sometimes pulls them off when going to sleep), fetch a sippy (of water) from the bed, etc without lowering the rails (and waking up the kids.) I am 5'4 and have no problem doing these things (she is 5'2.)  We laugh at what a difference 2 inches makes.

Also if you have a chewer (we have several friends who's babies chewed the living bejeesus out the crib rails.) you might end up with a full sized bed with big chunks taken out of it!

oh, thanks for the height advice! she's tall, but i'm only 5'3" so that's definitely something i'll make sure to keep in mind. i know we'll want to actually go see if we can find what we're looking at in the store, but i'll remember to see if i can actually reach the mattress!

when i was a kid my headboard had a band-aid on it. i did something (gouged it with a pen or something along those lines, i seem to remember it having to do with a writing utensil) and put the band-aid on there over top of it. i swear it stayed there for years!

  • i would also like to say that i feel a little silly doing this since we agreed not to really talk about this sort of thing until after the first u/s.

we didn't say i couldn't look though, right?

  • Those are both really nice!

And looking is totally legal! Wink
