Magic Kingdom with an infant
Hi all!
I am from "northern south Florida" and venturing out with my 8 month old in 2 weeks to Disney. I was wondering if the Central FL girls would be nice enough to make some suggestions on tips for Magic Kingdom. I was interested in what rides we can take her on and what there is to do with a little one.
Thanks for your input
Re: Magic Kingdom with an infant
You'll be able to take your daughter on most of the Magic Kingdom rides, except for the obvious roller coasters like Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Thunder Railroad, etc.
Pooh's Playful Spot is very nice for young toddlers, but it's not really geared for non-walkers. She's still a bit young to really enjoy the theme park, so just take things on a slow pace and work in nap times for her.
Have fun!
I have yet to try going to MK with my infant...seems like too much work. i am anxious to take him though. Maybe in a few more months.
I just wanted to say I am from "northern south fl" or "southeast central fl." I live in Palm City. You are the second local that has posted this week. It is exciting to see girls who live near me on here.
I haven't been to the MK with my little one yet. I plan on taking her when she turns one. I have been to Epcot though and just strolled around the countries and let her look around. I am going to either DAK or the Studios this week. I figure she can enjoy watching the shows and parades and just looking around will be fun for her. I have yet to encounter a character with her though... : )
However, all of the parks have baby care stations that are WONDERFUL to stop for changes and feedings. The map will tell you where they are located!
Have fun!
My son is 13 months old but we have been taking him since he was 5 months old. You can take the baby on all of the kiddie rides. Disney offers a rider switch pass/baby swap pass. You can ask for one at the big rides like space. It works sort of like a fast pass.
I love the baby care centers. The one in Magic Kingdom is great. They have a whole room of changing tables to change diapers. Highchairs to feed the little ones, and even a nursing room for nursing mothers. They also sell supplies for the little ones. So if you forget something they probably have it.
Thank you all for your advice. My husband nor I ride any of the big rides anyway - just wasn't sure if there were restrictions on the kid rides (like Peter Pan, It's a Small World, Dumbo). So all the input was very helpful. Since she is small - we definitely will be leaving to take an afternoon nap and break from the wonderful FL heat.
Mrs.DMC - I know what you mean about being happy to have someone closer by - being in the TC area, we are kind of in limbo between South & Central FL
