Escape artists...

I thought you guys might get a kick out of this.  I got home last Thursday from work about 7pm and several of my neighbors were outside talking.  I went over to say hello and all 4 of them mentioned that my two dogs had gotten out earlier in the afternoon.  My nieghbors were awesome and managed to get them back into our backyard (what great neighbors).  Then, my next door neighbor Dave exclaimed that my two dogs (Julius and Caesar) paid him a visit.  My two dogs dug out of our yard into their yard and went into their house via their doggie door.  How embarrassing!  My little weiner dog, Julius, was caked in mud and I prayed that they didn't cause too much damage in his house.  Dave said he just walked them back over and they went right back into our backyard.  Now I'm labeled!  For those of you that know my dogs, they are notorious for getting out of our fence.  We have done everything just shy of putting up an electric fence!  Anyways, I am just so greatful for my nieghbors that they had a sense of humor and enough heart to put my little guys back in our yard despite the trouble they caused.  Tongue Tied Hope you ladies had a great weekend!

Re: Escape artists...

  • Oh the joys of escape artist dogs! My little one Riley used to get out all the freakin' time. He even started to get the other dog's help to break off boards. We joke that they're Pinky and the Brain. Ours was just a bad fence that's now been solved, but we had thought of putting the metal landscaping stuff along the fence to keep him from digging. John says he sees tons of people do this when he's installing phone lines. Makes his job harder, but it keeps the dogs in!

  • Hahahaha! I love that they used someone else's doggie door!

I had a neighbor who had the same problem and she installed some type of metal fence inside her wooden fence. But if  they're that determined, then who knows what they're capable of!!!

  • Oh good grief! Yes, I've dealt with escape artist animals! I had a neighbor whose dog would be in our alley every week growing up. If she left for an hour the little mutt would come visit our house. I thought it was cool because I was like 7 at the time and I could go outside and play with her through the fence but her owner didn't think it was cool!
  • omg, your dogs are so funny... they have such personalities!!!!!!
