Girl names with boy nicknames
Some of you might have seen my post from yesterday about Alexandra and Alex, but DH and I are trying to think of girl names that can have boy nicknames. Some off the top of my head:
Alexandra (Alex) - my favorite so far
Samantha (Sam) - reminds me too much of who's the boss
Nicole (Nick/Nikki)
I know there are more, maybe when I wake up I can remember some of the others we thought of but what else can you think of? TIA!
Re: Girl names with boy nicknames
christine - chris
francesca - frankie
patricia - pat
Robyn - rob
Francesca = Frankie
Danielle = Danni
??
My fave - Charlotte (Charlie). Went to school w/ a girl name Charlotte Brown and everyone always called her Charlie Brown
I also knew a Francesca (Frankie/Frank)
Josephine, Joey
Francesca, Frankie
Shawn just as it is
?
Josephine = Joey
Can you tell I was a Dawson's Creek fan?
Francesca / Frankie was high up on our list! LOVE IT!!!
I used to know a Johnna / Johnnie.
My daughter took music class with a baby girl named Billie, another named Carson and another named Cameron (I guess the last two names are more unisex).
We had planned on calling Charlotte - Charlie. But it just doesnt fit her - still think its cute though.
I always like Veronica and then you could call her Nicki or Ronnie.
Google the show Sisters...all the girls had names with boy nicknames
Georgie
Charlie
I can't remember the rest of them.
Jaclyn or Jacqueline - Jack or Jackie
I was friends in high school with Georgieann - we all called her Georgie.
My parents friends named their daughter Lee (rather than Leigh).
Roberta - Bobbi (I have an aunt by marriage, Aunt Bobbi).
Joanne/Joanna/Josephine/Johanna - Joe / Joey / JoJo (I have an Aunt Joey and a "SIL" JoJo).
Tomasina - Tommi
Danielle or Daniella - Dani
Shauna - Shaun
Veronica - Ronni (like Ronni Spector)
My daughter is Daniella, but could be called Dani
These are some that I personally know.
Antonia = Toni
Nicole = Nicki
Georgianna = Georgie
Alexa = Alex
Funny my daughters name is Alexandra (and we call her Alex most of the time) and Samantha was top 2 if we had a girl the second time around! We always joked if we called them Sam and Alex people would think we had 2 boys!
My SIL name is Christine and they call her Chris

Charlotte (Charlie)
I remember when the show 'Sisters' was on and all 4 girls had female names but male nicknames because I think the father wanted boys but got all girls. I think the names where Theodora (Teddy), Georgiana (Georgie), Francesca (Frankie) and Alexandra (Alex). There was also another illegitimate sister too, Charlotte, the above example.
I have an aunt, her name is Barbara, but she goes by Bobbi.
Also a cousin Charlene, sometimes called Charlie.
my grandmother's name was Hannah and everyone called her Hank.
i also had an aunt ray (rachael).
i know a female Gerry (it might be Gerri, actually, i think it's Jerri) and i think her full name is Geraldine.
i once met a female Bernie (her name was Bernadette, i think).
all the other ones i can think of have been mentioned already.
I have 2 cousins, also goddaughters, Shawndra (after her mother Kendra and her father Shawn), and Arianna. Their family, and me, call them China Doll and Nana, but all their friends call them Shawn and Ari.
