Digital SLR ?

Does anyone have a digital SLR?  If so what kind?  Do you recommend it?  Are they any you do recommend?  Thanks

Re: Digital SLR ?

  • There is an extremely popular nikon slr.  I can't remember the model number right now but know that my girlfriend has one.  I remember my photogs telling her what a great camera it was.  I am pretty sure it gets solid reviews on cnet.  I want to say it is a nikon d-series.....
  • the nikon d40 I believe....
  • I have that camera in a film SLR.  How ironic.
  • ohhh the irony....okay well you are sol now because that was all I had!! grrrr...........

  • what about a canon rebel?  I am not really sure if it is digital or what the reviews are but I have heard of that one as well!!!
  • Kamila Harris recommended the canon rebel to me.  I'm looking into them now.  I really like them so far.  I know she is going to sell one of her camera's soon too, so I'm also looking into that.  It comes with good photog vibes in it already.
  • I have the Canon Rebel and love it!!  It takes really nice pictues.  My photographer recommended it.  I want to upgrade the lens soon, but the one that comes with it is really pretty good.
  • I think the Canon Rebel and the Nikon D series are the most popular. You'd be good with either, I'm sure.
  • Make sure you go and test the cameras out to see how they feel in your hand before buying one. Since you have a Nikon already, your likely to like them better still. I thought I'd love a Rebel since I love Canon so much, but the Nikons felt a lot better in my hand. My husband is brand loyal to Canon though, so we're likely to end up with E0S 30D.

  • I have the Nikon D60 and love it.  Plus, since you have it in film, you can use any lenses you already own on the digital body.  MIL gave us her way old ones (like 20 yo) and they work perfectly, though they don't automatically focus.

OOO I never thought about that!

  • It's an awesome feature and can save you boatloads in the long run.  My dad has tons of his old lenses that he pops on and off whenever needed.

If there are any Circuit Cities still open (I have no idea), we got ours for $200+ less than Best Buy's sale.

  • Do I smell a nestie trying to turn vendor? You have to have a personality to be a wedding photographer. Sorry but you're SOL. The Rebel is a good consumer camera. Not great but good.
