I had my heart set on the Thomasville line Fredericksburg TV media console/stand. Ugh, it's $1500 and that's more than I want to spend. I mean I guess only ther 2nd piece of furniture that I would buy that's really not a lot in the scheme of things til you think about a 2nd mortgage and that we need our bdrm furniture completed.
So here are my 2 other options that we've come up with:

I like timeless/classic pieces, and I have mainly antique furniture.
What do you think/like?!!!?!?
TIA!!!
Re: honest opinions
All Dressed Up
The JCPenney's piece is too ornate for my taste! I like the Haverty's piece better.
with furniture, I go by a famous quote by Van Gogh - "simplicity is the key to sophistocation". :-)
Oh I like the Thomasville one. I think the JCP one is a little too ornate and the Haverty's a little too contemp.
Have you checked out Lane Furniture? Or Ashley?
I might also consider getting a console that is a part of a center so that if you want to expand it, it would be easy to just buy a hutch later?
I totally agree. Both are pretty, but I tend to go more for straight lines and simplicity. The second one gets my vote.
yes, that is my fear that the JCP one is too ornate (for the record Brad didn't even know what I meant by that and I had to laugh at him).
The Haverty's one I'm not sold on. I may have to venture around in Columbus, possibly Montgomery as it's MUCH easier to see something in person.
Sarah, Brad isn't a big fan on the huge ent centers. He was with me and would rather have a piece of furniture, and something that isn't the center of attn in a room. (like the TV won't already do this!!! LOL)
I'm just so torn and tired of looking at them - they are starting to all look the same!!!!
I agree with PP that Ashley would be a great place to look!
Also, if you ever get out this way, Mazers always has excellent deals.
I think the JCP piece looks like it's trying too hard. The Haverty's one is ok. Of course, I also like the Thomasville one the best.
I agree with you Bethany, I just can't find something that is not overly priced in my opinion.
I love the Thomasville one but ugh.
We've gone to Ashley and nothing really jumped out at us. They have more of the media dressers (for your bdrm) than they do the consoles...... I want something taller than an average TV stand but not as tall as the dressers. I want it to look like a piece of furniture and would rather have something that is more of the antique look.
So the search continues..........
well you might be able to open your choices if you look at hte wall entertainment centers as well - when they order them, they order the pieces separate - so you could just get the console part.
Here is sort of a picture of ours
teh console part is just 3 cabinets (came with either wood or glass inserts)
