We had a rough morning! She passed out on us, I was giving her some loves and she collapsed in my arms. I freaked out, John came running over and he rubbed her belly until she came around which was only maybe 30 seconds but it was awful. After she came to, she streched, got some water and went and found her ball to play.
I called the vet first thing this morning and he thinks that she will be ok, that she may have had some of the calming medicine left in her but he doesn't think that it's related to the poison.
From my post below:
K12 is vitamin that counteracts with the poison.
She can't play ball b/c she has a tendency to get over excited (if you know BT's, you know what I'm talking about), she's been known to catch her dew claw and make it bleed, if she starts to bleed then she can bleed to death.
We also have to watch her for signs of internal bleeding, luckly BT's have very little fur on their tummys so it will be easy to spot the pin pricks that the vet said to watch for.
Re: Sydney Update #2
Oh no! I hope Sydney will be okay. The good news is is that the vet isn't to worried about it. That's a good thing!
Oh my goodness! What a scary morning you had! I'm glad Sydney came too and went right back to her normal self.
I hope she continues to get better and I'm glad the vet doesn't seem too worried.
OMG caro, I think I would've lost it! I'm glad she seems okay and that's what I thought - she might not be able to play because dogs get SO excited (Xena's the same way and she's not a BT. If its her fave ball, WATCH OUT, she'll take you out in her playing!)
I'm so glad the vet believes she'll be okay and hope she keeps her little doggy spirits up!
I was afraid to open this post this morning. OMG I would have freaked out too. My parents have two BT and one of them is OCD about balls, so I completely understand.
