Moving to Nevada...Opinions?

Hello everyone. We are relocating from MN to NV in the next month, and are looking in the Henderson area. Do any of you ladies reccomend a specific area? (I know theres green valley, summerlin...ect. Also what do you like about NV vs. other places if you have lived in another state? Thanks to you all, and hello new neighbors!!

I also am from MN living in Las Vegas. What I love about living here is the fabulous weather (no more 30 below!) and if you are into shopping and dining, everything here is top notch and Las Vegas has everything you could ever want.

As a teacher, the job market here is wonderful. I know I will always have job security here.  

Las Vegas can feel like the suburbs of Mpls/St. Paul. It's not all about the Strip. There are many great communities within Las Vegas.

Overall, I love it here and think I would pick living here over in MN!

Try to move in close proximity to where you will be working, otherwise commutes can get long. Henderson is a great area, and so is Summerlin!

I love Vegas for the same reasons as pp--plenty to do, great job market, great weather, strong economy, good housing prices (for now--total buyers market!).  For green valley/henderson, there are plenty of good zip codes.  Offfhand, I would recommend 89052, 89123, 89074, and 89141 if you are willing to go as far south as Southern Highlands (one of my fav neighborhoods in Vegas).  I can't help you much with Summerlin because I've never lived there--too far from work for me.  There are other girls here who can help, I'm sure, like futuremrswolf
