Verizon vent

Verizon just decided to take my account and add it to my husbands account.  So now I can't even get information on my account, because he has to authorize it!  I "casually" inquired that shouldn't someone ie me have to sign something to give the rights to my account to someone else?

I got the run around on the phone.  I'm not happy.  I'm going to the store by my office as soon as work ends.  They have no right.  They said that the system noticed that we have the same last name, address, and the bills get paid from the same account, so it just poofed and combined them. WTF!

Not that I care if we are on the same account, but I seriously should've had to sign something, and I should be able to get information on MY account without having my husband authorize it.  I'm fuming!

Re: Verizon vent

  • That definitely doesn't sound legal! Just be sure to ask for a manager... don't waste your time speaking to someone who can't make decisions.
  • It's so annoying to be on a family plan sometimes.  Verizon once called my H and said to him "did you know the other number in your plan calls 411 regularly?"

     Effing tattles.

  • We aren't even on a family plan!  That's the shocking part.  We both had completely seperate plans.  Now magically I'm on his plan.  I do not approve.
  • That sounds totally illegal. What if the two of you were cousins or something...they have no clue what your relation is to the other person if they're going by name, address and a billing account.  I definitely think you should have been notified...especially since you can't do anything without H to your account now.
  • They are one of the only things remaining on the list of people I never notified of my name change.  Although we have separate checking accounts still, maybe that's a good thing I never got around to it.

My H was just wondering if we could combine accounts, I guess I got the answer to that. I'd still be pissed if they did it without my knowledge and then wouldn't let me access my own info.

I'm pretty sure it's pronounced your mom's a moron and if you didn't have your name legally changed by the age of 22, so are you. Unless you're from another continent. -Groomz
