OMG ... I love the IRS right now.

DH did 90% of our taxes last night and with the deduction of married jointly, 3 kids, mortgage interest, donations ... we are gettin $8100 back BUT that does not include the deductions yet for all my medical bills and Rx.  OMG .... our bank account is cushioned again.  Thank you Uncle Sam and if the rebate goes through, that is another $2100 or so for us.  Now why is that we are not vacationing in Maui????

Re: OMG ... I love the IRS right now.

  • Seriously, I need some kids and a house! LOL
  • I hate you.  DH just paid his taxes to the IRS for his LLC--enough $$ for a BMW back to the feds. =(  I'm just glad we were putting extra money away for taxes or we would have been in some real trouble.

  • Please understand that I was expecting for us to have to pay some big $$$ this year so I am in total shock.  Hell it would be nice if it was like this every year but that is unlikely for sure.  I cannot wait to see the final number once DH puts in the file W2 of mine and all the med expenses (maybe that was the only good thing about me getting sick last year cause there is a ton of them!).

After our wedding, HM, and coming home to everything breaking (literally we replaced the vaccuum, garage door, dryer and a car all within 6 months of the wedding and now the frig is acting up) we depleated accounts like no tomorrow.  This will pad us very well.

Maybe a GTG will be on me ;)

  • haha, that's awesome!  It's nice to finally GET some money instead of give it, ya know!?  I'm actually hoping I will get some money back this year.  I file married but withhold at the higher rate with the hope that I can get some cash back and balance out DH's loss.  I'll keep you posted!! =)

  • So all this tax talk... who knows when the 1099 has to be either postmarked by or to you?  We are having constant discussions about this and I just don't know.  That doesn't change from state to state does it?  DH thought it had to be postmarked by the 31st, but I was reading and it sounded like it had to be to you by the 31st.  Regardless, he got one that was postmarked the first and STILL doesn't have the other.  Stupid Circuit City can't do anything right I can't wait till we get this and are done with them so I never have to deal with them again.... ok vent done.  Anyone know the answer to the question?
