I know we have discussed this multiple times, but sadly the search feature has been useless for awhile now, so I don't think I can do that. ?Who goes to Brookwood or St. Vincents?
I'm changing from my old doctor at another place and I need to decide where/who to go to from now on. ?
Thoughts, recs, or reasons why you prefer one ?over another is appreciated. ?I've never dealt with either hospital or their doctors since I moved here, so I'm not very familiar with either.
Thanks ?
Re: Birmingham OB GYN
I got to Dr. Jeffers Fowlkes at St. Vincents. He's in with a lot of other dr's and I think the group is called Birmingham OBGYN (or that's what they say when they answer the phone, LOL) I really like him. I've been going to him since I was 16 and he's been wonderful the whole time. He actually delieverd me and was my mother's doctor too.
Another person I've heard really good things about is Dr. Summers. He's also part of the St. Vincents except his clinic is at St. Vincents East. (over where Medical Center East used to be) One of my friends went to him and she really had a good experience too.
HTH.

Thank you guys!?
And AM, non recs are important too! I want to stick with a new doctor from now on since we don't anticpate moving again until DH graduates (Old GYN was left over from when we lived further south). It's just as good to know who to avoid!
?
And Bethany, thanks. I replied. ?
wow am..really? i've gone to dr. sparks since i moved to bham and he's always been super nice and i've always been very comfortable with him
I sadly had to change OB/GYN last year...it took me months to decide on a new MD to see. I spent a lot of time talking to my nurse friends who work in labor & delivery at my hospital (St. Vincent's East)...and St. Vincents downtown. The 2 that were recommended over all the others were Dr. Christy Dey (East)...and Dr. Snowden (downtown)!!
I ended up going with Dr. Dey...since she was at my hospital and closer to my house. I have been so happy with her. She is so caring...and really takes her time to answer any questions..and makes me feel comfortable! My good friend has been seeing Dr. Snowden for a while now...and she loves her! My friend is having a really rough time (she has been going through infertility treatments for a while) and Dr. Snowden has been so great with her and her husband through everything
Yep. I'll tell you the story next time we talk. I really, really, really don't like him.
