RSP

I just read a post where you mentioned you work at Town Square.  Did you leave your old job?  Where are you working now? Do you like working at Town Square?

  • Oh tell me about Town Square ... I have not been  yet and want to go.

It's really fun.  I'm excited for the opening of Yardhouse restaurant.  It's a lot of cute shops and restaurants in what looks like an actualy downtown area.  I've been to other cities like Portland and Richmond, VA where they have an actual downtown area with cute little shops and eateries.  It literally feels like to are driving in another city when you enter Town Square, because it has that older city, downtown feel.  Anyway, I really liked it, but both times I went it was SLAMMED!  I mean, you couldn't drive because there were people everywhere.  And the crosswalk situation sucks.  Other than that, it's worth checking out!

  • The company I was working for before closed. Now I work at the White House Black Market over at TS. I like it, but it's slow right now. I think it is going to do wonderfully once the entire center is open and it warms up. I think it would be in the best interest of Town Square to have seasonal hours. We had extended hours for Christmas and it was completely pointless. Although, I do not miss working until midnight on Friday and Saturday.

They are putting law offices above us and the rest of the stores in our building along with a few others. A Whole Foods is supposed to open in the center along with a 24 Hour Fitness and eventually condos. I recently heard a rumor that Whole Foods might be pulling out. I hope not because they are supposed to be right next door to us!

I think one of the biggest mistakes the center made was not putting in any type of food court or quick food options. While the center is going for a more upscale look it really is inconvenient for families with small children. As of right now the only things that are open are Claim Jumper, California Pizza Kitchen, and Louis' Las Vegas/Louis' Fish Camp. I personally view CPK and Claim Jumper as affordable, but some families with young children do not. They also spent $2 million on a children's play park and have nothing in the way of a cheap/quick food option. I did hear that they are putting in a Mrs. Field's and Auntie Anne's, so that should help a little. I can't wait until the Blue Martini opens!

I thought you were at Joe's before?  Did they close, or did you have a job between Joe's and WHBM?  I love WHBM!  I didn't even know there was one in Town Square.

  • I was at Joe's, but then when I wasn't getting very many hours I was going to get a second job and they got all weird. After quite a decent amount of passive aggressive behavior on Joe's part I left and went over to my other job, which was a clothing store in Miracle Mile.
