Funny thing happened at work
m+j's post reminded me of this...
I was helping this lady who was taking a road trip through the United States. She starts asking me about Hawaii, which I don't really know anything about, as I have never been there. Then she asks me what the best way to get there is. I tell her that her only two options are by boat or plane. "Well, I'm driving, but my map cuts off at California." Then I tell her that Hawaii is separated from CA by the Pacific Ocean and driving is not a possibility. "I know that, but I thought there was a bridge connecting Hawaii and CA." So then I tell her that Hawaii is roughly 900 miles from CA so unless she has a car that can drive underwater she cannot drive there. This woman was dead serious and I was just beside myself.

Oh goodness gracious. I grew up in Hawaii and one of the most frustrating things I used to here tourists say is "when we get back to the states...." Duh, Hawaii is a state too!
