So...

how is everyone... we need to make this board more active!

Re: So...

  • Hey April!

I really wish this board would pick up.  I was going to post this morning about how my DH was jumping on my nerves but I got side tracked.  I really need to practice my windmill because he's gonna get it.

  • LOL @ Bennetts Baby! Let me know how the windmill works for you. I might have to keep that one in my back pocket for future use, lol.

I'm doing great though! DH and I had a pretty good weekend. We went on a little date on Friday (he took me to my favorite resturant that I mentioned in a previous post) and I was finally able to get some great tiramisu :-)

We also did some preliminary house hunting. We wanted to look at some neighborhoods in our price point. I think we got a good sense of what we can afford and the prospects are pretty good actually so we're really happy about that.

The last thing we did was buy some gifts for my SIL's baby shower. Damn it's expensive to have a kid! LOL. Not that I didn't know this before, but going shopping for the shower really put things in perspective ;-)

  • For me that's the scariest part about having a baby.  I think we'll be good parents and provide a healthy well balanced home but the price of a child is crazy.  I know I have to work so I would have to look into daycares  (which would have to be a good one because I don't want my two year old coming home singing crank that soldier boy instead of saying her ABC's)
  • LOL @ windmill & "singing crank that soilder boy!"

Kids are expensive but trust me you'll learn the tricks!  I buy most of my daughters clothes off season which saves a ton.  Personally I think the first year and when they cross over from toddler to big kids clothes are the most expensive!

Lord knows, I do NOT miss paying for diapers and daycare!

As far as daycares I am a big believer in chains because of their history.  I have had my daughter in smaller / in home daycares but only for short amounts of times.  We had a bad experience when she was 4, nothing awful but the lady literally kept the kids in one room all day!

  • Hey Ladies I am so happy we are now moving over here. I get so tired of all the "wedding happiness" on the other board(lol)! Over here we can talk about how our H are pissing us off and not feel bad! Although my weekend was pretty good we are saving for our HM in March so we can't spend much money and it is killing me!!!

I have 3 kids and my only advice there is make sure you are ready b/c once they are here you can't get rid of them!!( lol)

    Peace
  • Mrs Huntress- I know it sucks to save every penny for the HM but believe me it will be worth it. Keep your eyes on the prize, lol.

It boggles my mind how much daycare costs! I can't believe it. But it's obviously worth it;  it's your child(ren) and their future. Oh the many things to consider when having deciding whether to have children or not!
  • Yeah I know childcare is very expensive but luckily I have a lady who can watch my son from home and she only charges $3hr!!! Now with my daughter I sent her to a CC center and paid $170 a week so happy those days are OVER!
