LADIES KEEP IT REAL

How do you go about getting your husband to help out around the house? My husband is very lazy and it really pisses me off that I have to tell him what to do step by step. I mean he was lazy before marriage but he would do the bear minimum now he won't do anything. Anyone else have this problem?

Re: LADIES KEEP IT REAL

  • I use to have this problem with DH.  I went on strike.  Only washed what I needed, didn't wash dishes, load dishwasher, wash clothes, clean the bathrooms.  Then I came home to a sparkeling clean house and a I'm sorry note.

He has had a few relapse but if I mention it he gets back in line.  What helped us was splitting the house chores.  There were items I didn't mind doing  and some I refused to do.  After we made our list, he KNEW what he was suppose to do.  It wasn't a guessing game of does she want me to or is she going to do it.

I admit I did the guessing game with the chores I didn't like to do before we officially split them.  Doesn't work so much now since he's not at home, but my nieces do most of the chores I hate now! =)  GL
  • A agree with Pearl...we split up the chores and since we brought our home he has been less messy.  Sometimes going on strike does it :-)
  • I had to have a sit down with him and told him that he made me feel like a slave in my own house. He helps out a lot more now. He didn't realize how overwhelmed I was until I started crying over a cup left on the table.
