Hi! You mentioned in my thread below that you live in Wexford Village. I'm curious to get your opinion on how strict the homeowner's association is in the neighborhood...I read on their website that fences over 3ft aren't allowed, and from what I've heard, fences in general are discouraged. What's your take?
And, also, what is your thought on how strict they are about the limit to the number of domestic animals? I read that they limit each household to two domestic animals. I have two dogs now, but I want to get puppy in a few years as my dogs get older to 'smooth' the transition as they age (sad thought, I know :-(   ). They're all indoor dogs, with the exception of when they go out to do their business. And, my dogs are also the reason for the fence question. I'm really against invisible fencing...
Whereabouts in Wexford do you live? I'll be on Chesterton.

Thanks!!

  • They are pretty strict about the fence thing.  I know there was someone around who put up a fence that was not approved and I think they went to court.  I think they want to create a "friendly and open" neighborhood.  The only other thing I have read about is some letters that were sent to some houses whose yards were a mess.  There is a website which might be helpful, just google it and you can read the meeting minutes.  I'm not sure how they would know if you had more than 2 animals (we have a cat and dog).  Overall, they just want the neighborhood to stay nice/keep property values up.

I live on Harvest Hill.  It's the older part of Wexford and our starter house.  We really do love the location, it's really easy to get to everything.  You will especially enjoy the walking paths to walk your dogs.  Let me know if you have any other questions.
