Anniversary ideas (steak dinner/event) Milwaukee

Our 3 year anniversary is in June. I will be 9 months pregnant!  For some reason it is really bumming me out that I can't enjoy wine this time around!

We don't get into Milwaukee alot but I would love to get out there and have a night out.  We both really love steak, we have heard carnivore(sp?) is good?  any recs?  fun things to do?

Re: Anniversary ideas (steak dinner/event) Milwaukee

  • I'm totally not from Milwaukee, but one of the best steaks I have ever had was at the Rafters.  I have no clue where I was, but I know it was this giant supper club that had the relish tray and the whole nine yards.  My steak was done perfectly, and the waitress was more than fabulous.  I am still not over that steak!

    Have fun!

  • If you want steak, go to Capital Grill. Its a little spendy, but its THE BEST steak I've ever had. Everything is a la carte, so you order sides separate. The sides are pretty generous, definitely enough for two people to share.

  • I've heard great things about Carnevore lately! DH and I want to try it. Also the Milwaukee Chophouse and Coerpers. I haven't been to any of those. We went to Mr. B's for my b-day one year and it was terrific. They are all expensive.

  • Coerpers 5 o'clock Supper Club is hands down by far the best.  It's not exactly in the best part of town, but has the best steak.

I love Mr.B's (in Brookfield), Milwaukee Chophouse (in the Hilton downtown) and Mo's Steakhouse (on Plankiton downtown).  Mo's is very expensive, a little overpriced, but the food and staff are excellent.  I haven't been to the Chophouse in a while but it also has great food, great atomsphere and is expensive.  Mr. B's is great but not downtown. I also love Jake's, but is pretty far west of downtown.
  • I would never eat at the Chophouse in the Hilton. I don't doubt they have good food, but I've heard other..unsavory things about it.

  • I strongly suggest Capital Grille (3rd & Wisconsin) or Kincaids (3rd & Juneau ish by Louise's Piano Bar).  Both are someone new to the area and AMAZING.

They are also both close to the Milwaukee Theatre and within walking distance of the Bradley Center if you wanted to catch a show/game afterwards!

  • My husband and I went to Carnevor and absolutely loved it! Worth every penny, everything was fabulous. I also like that the atmosphere is a little more "urban casual" than most steakhouses I have been too. Everything is still very high end and the service is great, but the vibe is more relaxed. If you do go, I highly recommend getting the asparagus as a side--I am not a big vegetable person and I thought it was fantastic.
