just moved to WAukesha

So we have been in waukesha about a month now and I am sooo lonely.  I have gone to a couple library playgroups but haven't really met anyone.  My son and I hang out at home all day and it totally sucks.  Back in Washington we had a play group and classes we would go to.  Anyone have any suggestions how to meet other moms around here?

  • You can try www.milwaukeemoms.com

Sometimes the nestie moms get together too. Maybe we can plan another GTG soon so you can meet some of us? I actually have some very good friends that I met on theknot while I was planning my wedding. Its unconventional, but nice!

  • I live near Waukesha.  I'd love to hang out, but I work full time.  Definitely try Milwaukeemoms.com.  I check in there every once and a while.  The message boards move kind of slow, but everyone is very helpful.

  • I'm in the Waukesha/Brookfield area myself (sorry, no kids though!).  Could you try the YMCA mommy & me classes? I am sure you will begin to see more parents & children in the parks when the stupid snow melts.  Fox Park in downtown Waukesha has playgrounds and such.

Have you looked on onmilwaukee.com? I'm not sure how many groups there are, but there may be classes to take or activities that are kid friendly (e.g. betty brinn children's museum)?

    I hope that helps!

  • I don't have much help for you since I am new to the mom thing, but a GTG is is a great idea.  JC is right, I meet some of the best people in theknot and are great friends IRL.

  • The motherhood maternity store in brookfield has some mommy&me classes I used to go to.  I now watch my friends baby so don't get to those a lot.  Also there is this great stroller fitness class that meets at Babies R us on wen or fri, I can't remember but the mommys will go for coffee or lunch after too.

I don't know how old your lil one is but Waukesha memorial has a great BFing group that meets wen 1-3pm, I went to it until Ella was 9 months and met a lot of great moms there.
