Daycare (Waukesha area)

Does anyone have experience with any of the following daycares?

Wee Welcome - Sussex
LSS - Sussex
Goddard - Brookfield
Kindercare - Pewaukee

I just got a new job and have to move DD from the daycare which I currently LOVE.  (She's at All About Learning in Hartland, which is a large chain center.)  This is such a tough decision, I'd really appreciate anything you could tell me about these centers.  Thanks!

Re: Daycare (Waukesha area)

  • Sorry can't help with your post, but I just wanted to say that your DD's pics in your siggy are so cute!  Look at her curling and loving it!
  • I have heard of all of those and I used to work at a childcare and honestly what I have heard about Goddard and Kindercare wasn't good. I haven't heard alot about the other two but I would go and do a majorly long visit and look at everything. If you don't have to move her or there is any way you can keep her where she is I would do it.  The childcare I worked at was Children's Learning Center in Pewaukee. It is off of capital drive on Gumina rd. I would definately avoid that center. I worked there for almost 3yrs and last October I saw MY daughters teacher slam her on the floor and admin did nothing, even after I called state on them.  I have also heard that there are some good in-home daycares that are out that way. I would check on Craigslist to see what you find. Sorry i only have negative stuff to say but I would rather you know than not. GL
  • Wee welcome is non-profit, expensive, and to be very honest, I would never take my DD there. They have an open concept and all kids can go everywhere.

LSS is a great place, my DD almost went there before I found my sitter. I would call to reserve a spot and go on a tour soon as they didnt have many spots open as of a month ago.

I dont know anything about the others.

Hmm... I actually think Wee Welcome is pretty inexpensive.  We pay approx. $50 more than that a week right now.  They had gates on all the rooms when we took our tour.

I will set up a tour with them, thanks!

  • Wee welcome is not the one I was think of. Sorry, I was thinking of Kids Come First. Wee Welcome is about 2 blocks from my house. I liked them but they had no spots open for us :(
  • We looked at Kids Come First and hated it.  It was absolutely horrible.

We should get together for a playdate sometime.  We're about a mile away from Wee Welcome.

  • That would be awesome! We live right on Main St so we are close to everything! Maybe once the weather gets a little nicer we can go to a park.
