Bachelorette party in MKE- HELP!!!

I posted on here a while ago but now we're down to making decisions.
1) Where are the "good" bars at?
2) Are there any hotels near the bars?
3) Do you know of any reasonable limo companies?
4) What is there that's fun to do/ a little out of the ordinary?

Thanks, girls!  I've never partied in MKE so it's going to be hard to plan a bachelorette party there!

Re: Bachelorette party in MKE- HELP!!!

  • Have you thought about going on a brewery tour?  Lakefront Brewery has a great one.

What are the ages of the ladies going?  What is the bride's personality like?
  • This place is really fun for bachleoretty parties.

  • She's a little younger- 23.  The girls range from 22 to probably 28.  All partiers! :)

  • There are a ton of good places.  You can check out bars at onmilwaukee.com

For my party, we started with dinner at Louisa's (italian) and then took a trolley (through DMI Limo) to Bryants (no longer).  Then we bar hopped to Moct, Cans and finally Hegarty's at Marquette (kind of a dive bar, but a lot of fun).

Bryants was a lounge with all these cool flaming drinks.  At Random in bay view is somewhat similar but that's pretty far from downtown.

There are a ton of hotels.  Depends on your price range.  Hotel Metro is cute (not sure about price) and I believe friday nights has $5 martinis.  The hotel is on Milwaukee Ave which has a bunch of trendy places.

There's a couple of great places in the Third Ward, just south of Milwaukee Ave.  Curvee is a champagne bar and there's this cool Irish pub that I forgot the name.  Again, you could probably find it on onmilwaukee.com.

La Perla has great margaritas and a giant mechanical pepper you can ride.  Lots of b-parties start there.

I personally would avoid water st.  But that's my "been there, done that" mentality.  If you are out of town, just turned 21 or have your fake ID for the first time, you go to Water St.  It's a lot of college kids and just graduates.  But for a younger group, that might be fun.

  • Bryant's is no more??  What......
  • Yup.  I'll try to find the article for you.  They announced after the fact they closed.  Sucks.

  • Thanks, for the tip about Water street!  I thought that was "the place" to be!  Even though we're all relatively young, we're all well out of college and into our professional/family phases so the college crowd isn't our thing.  I will definitely google some of the places you said- they sound so fun!

  • How sad!  I used to go there quite a bit in college.
  • If you like beer, I second a Lakefront brewery tour for the afternoon.  Those are so much fun and much cooler than the Miller tour.  There's a bar Roots by the brewery too.
  • It sounds like the clubs on Milwaukee St. would be perfect for your group.  You could also stay at Hotel Metro, right on the same block.  If you did that, there'd be no need for a limo.
  • I agree with the Milwaukee Street idea.  Lots of bars/clubs and great martini's at Hotel Metro.
  • We went to Buckhead and Lucille's (both on 3rd St.) for my bachelorette party. Buckhead was ok--kinda like Water St., a little more for the younger crowd, but fun if you like to dance. I loved Lucille's--everyone had a ton of fun there and the dueling pianos are entertaining.
  • Oh, I'm so sad about Bryant's closing - I haven't been there in years but it was a great place. :o(
