NE1 else doing the Danskin Triathlon???

I just registered for the Danskin Triathlon in Pleasant Prairie in July.  What are the nearest towns for hotels because the ones in Pleasant Prairie seem to all be booked?  Thanks!

I'm signed up for the Pewaukee one that weekend, but a friend of mine is doing her best to talk me into the Danskin.

I could be wrong, but last year I'm pretty sure we took one of the Kenosha exits to get to parking (you park at the Dairy Land Greyhound Track.) So that might be a good area to try.

I think that I am going to do it this year. We are still trying to figure out if we are going to still be in WI at that time. It has a pretty expensive sign up fee amd I would hate to move and lose the $75.00!

shoelover- with the additional "fees" it ends up costin $91 and some change.  I'm so nervous!  It's in 19 weeks and I know I'm not ready (I don't even own a bike) Wish me luck!

The closest hotel is the Radisson which from what you said is already booked.  You could try the Best Western (on Hwy 50 & 94), Country Inn & Suites and I think there is a Holiday Inn on Hwy 50.  Otherwise, maybe try Racine or Sturtevant.  I'm fortunate and live in Kenosha so I don't have to worry about the hotel thing.  Babbling - I so think you should do the Danskin

I was going to but I'll be about ready to pop then so I think I'll wait until next year.  The Best Western on Hwy 50 was fairly inexpensive.  Good luck!

Ug! $91.00 + new tires for my bike. $30.00 + to join a new gym with a pool...Hotel for two nights...Danskin is SOOO expensive! I might just do the new Capitol City tri this spring. I know it isn't the same as the awesome Girl Power Danskin but it is just too much money!

Anyone doing Mad City this year? I think I am going to do the half Marathon. I have to start training this week...
