**branola**

Hey!  Are you guys in town this week?  If so... how's the house hunting going?

Re: **branola**

  • Damn it!  I totally forgot to page you when I was there!!!  :(

Yes, we were in Bend from Monday-Friday last week.  We looked at what felt like 100 different neighborhoods and wound up coming to the conclusion that we really like the SW area near Pine Ridge Elementary (is that near where you are?)  We also loved the NW area of Bend up near Shevlin Park, but I think it may be a little too spendy for us up there, unfortunately.  :(

We will be moving in mid-May.  I can't believe that's less than 8 weeks away!  I hope that we can meet up for coffee or something once I get there.  It sure would be nice to know someone in a new town!
  • No worries!  I'm glad you guys found a part of town that you liked!

That area is probably only about 3 minutes away from me.  Lots of cute houses and nice neighborhoods.  Are there lots of homes to rent in that area?

  • There were quite a few for rent in your area.  There were waaay more up in NE Bend (off Cooley Rd), but we weren't really feelin' that area.  I liked the west side much better.

We went to a really good Thai place while we were there called Typhoon (down on Bond St.).  Have you been there?  It was really delicious and they had a nice atmosphere.
  • There is definitely a different feel on the East vs. West sides of town.  I don't mind the east side, but I really like being close to the Old Mill and the river.  We are maybe a 3 minute walk to the river from our house.  It's so nice to grab the tahiti and float from above the bridge to the Old Mill in the middle of summer!  I cannot wait for summer to get here.  It's snowing/ raining right now :(

I've heard of Typhoon, but we've never gone there.  DH is probably THE pickiest eater on the face of this earth!  He won't go anywhere new unless he thinks he can get a slab of meat there!
