introduction and question

Hi, Im Mary. DH and are have been married almost one year (in April). We live just north of Portland in WA. We have to DDs. Apparently Im not so good at introductions... so I hope that its enough. :-)

Anyway, DH and I are planning on spending out anniversary which is on a Friday down in Portland.. a night on the town. We arent really sure what to do.... but we want to do something special... a nice dinner... something fun and entertaining.

Im a big time planner and dont like to make last minute decisions, hence why Im already thinking about this. We had originally thought of taking a trip, but have decided to take the girls to Disneyland in August instead. But Im rambling, my question is if anyone as any suggestions?

We dont like seafood... so no seafood resturants :-) We like teriyaki, Italian food, and Mexican food. We arent big on operas but do enjoy a good theater. I look forward to hearing any ideas you can shoot my way... thanks in advnace!

Re: introduction and question

  •     ok so i know that its not the nicest place in the world but some where you may have fun is the greek cusina in down town portland. I love it there. You acan ask to go to the greek party. They have belly dancers, throw plates and have greek dancing. Lots of fun and entertaining. Not too expensive at all. Congrats btw.
  • You could try Marrakesh (Moroccan food) in NW portland. It is a fun experience, and they have belly dancers a few times per night so you'll get some entertainment.

All of my favorite restaurants are seafood though so I'm having trouble coming up with other places. I guess there are always the steakhouses (Ringside, Ruth's Chris, El Guacho - which is my fav-, or Hubers which is a meat/potatoes type of place).

  • thanks for the responses :-) I will talk to DH about it and see if any of those grabs him.
