We must be like twins or something. I got married in Mexico too.
Re: Mrsduck
Ha! Where at?? I got married at Aventura Spa Palace in Playa del Carmen.
Sort of odd question...before I left for the wedding I *thought* I had to file my marriage certificate when we got back.
We got back from the wedding/honeymoon right before Chrismtas. Jan 2 or 3, I called the county office and they said I did not have to do anything. Not trusting this, I called again and got someone else. Then, I went there to BE SURE (this all happened over a week or so, I am not stalking the county offices!).
I never had to file my license? I have my license from Mexico, and I have the English version. I am just wondering if this is all right? I mean, all of our 'stuff' says we are married...but in the eyes of Oregon, are we????????? Just something I think about from time to time!!
That sounds right. As long as you have a notarized English version, the US will recognize it as a true marriage. I would freak out about that too. Do you have plans to go back?
