Women Causes Close to Heart

Hey girls!  I was just curious to know which 'women's causes' you find most important and relevant to today's society.
I would say the top two are Breast Cancer and Women's Heart Disease, but thought you ladies might be aware of some more.  Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Re: Women Causes Close to Heart

  • Planned Parenthood. Not only do they educate and empower women to take control of their sexual health (everything from birth control, std prevention and cancer screening) but they work on a national and international level to provide care to no matter sexual orientation and financial or social status. Empowering and educating women is one of the most important things we can do in the world to improve the status of the human population. When you leave women uneducated and powerless, poverty, violence and the deterioration of society increases. For a time I donated to Alternatives for Prostitution but they were so disorganized it became too difficult (one time I went to 3 diff. locations to find where they were because they moved multiple times and didn't let their donors know). Domestic violence shelters are also important. Helping women, especially mothers, leave violent and dangerous situations helps end the cycle of violence. One of my favorites is the Raphael House but there are others that are good.
