Real Estate Agent question!

I am just wondering if the pearl district is completely oversaturated in condos right now, which it seems to be. We are considering possibly buying there but are scared that in 2-3 years that we will get screwed if we want to sell... any suggestions! Thanks!

Re: Real Estate Agent question!

  • My husband is a real estate agent and his feeling is that he is cautious about South Waterfront area for condos, just because there is a lot of building going on there right now.  If you are talking heart of the pearl, then that is a little more safe.

Honestly though, it's a good time to buy now because there is a lot on the market and you might get a good price and he doesn't think you'll get burned in 2-3 years....no matter where you buy in Portland.  Just his opinion, of course.

Here's his email if you have anymore questions:

  • I'd suggest talking with both real estate agents and mortgage brokers...to get a good idea from several "real estate" professionals what the real deal with the Pearl is. My friend has a 720 sq ft loft for sale at the Marshall Wells Lofts, if you're interested. It's going for $330k I think. Oh and another piece of advice our RE agent told us...If you'd by the place, so will someone else!
