Madonna's Adoption

I think it's total BS that Madonna was denied her adoption.  It's not like the first one where she just came in adopted a boy and left with all this controversy.  She's actually pumped a lot of money into that country now and they've seen what a great life she's provided for David.  Now they're going to say that she has to live there for 18 to 24 months?  Who's really going to do that?  I just don't understand why they would deny a little girl the opportunity to live the best life possible because she doesn't live in the country.

Am I the only one who thinks this way?

Re: Madonna's Adoption

  • Maybe Madonna can rescue an American child now.

I'm so tired of celebrities collecting kids from all over the world when there are kids in the US who need homes too. Charity starts at home, folks.

That's my only though on that whole thing.

    Amen sister!

  • Well I agree with that, but these people seem to think that they'll look better if they rescue from a poor country.  Unfortunately, they rarely adopt an American child.
  • I'm sure she could find a very lovely daughter/son right here in America.  They need a family just as much as a foreign child.  She already lives here.  It's time to start worring more about this country.

I think celebrities just go to other countries for the press and because it is the "in" thing to do.

  • See, now that I am looking into adoption I get it actually. I dont know if I would adopt in America. The big problem with it is, the fear that the mother will want that child back. She has a certain amount of time to take the child back. ALso, the fear for their whole life that she wants to be part of their life. I think that part at least for me sounds stressful. Also, it;s a much longer waiting list and way more expensive to adopt in America.
