So my DH and I are looking to purchase our first home, but don't know where. We like where we live now, but the prices are kinda ridiculous for what we want in a house. We are looking at moving to Roselle, Bloomingdale, Elk Grove Village...does anyone have any opinion on them one way or another?
Re: The suburbs
I've lived in Bloomingdale and Elk Grove, went to high school in Roselle / Medinah and know people who live in both. I like Bloomingdale and Elk Grove. B'dale is a bit "Mayberryish" at times, if you like that kind of thing.
Elk Grove seems more anonymous, but it's closer to everything. I did hear O'Hare air traffic often from my apartment.

Ok, then you are closer where I am at...makes sense!
My parents live in Roselle and love it, but they do not have a very good school district. I work in Elk Grove and it has a lot of industrial areas. I live in Schaumburg, we have the largest school district (HS) in Illinois and our schools are the top rated in the state as well. We also have an amazzing park district. If you plan on staying for a while you should def look into the schools before you buy. We bought in Schaumburg because of the school district and the nieghborhood (we LOVE ours!).

Bloomingdale and Medinah can be a little Mayberry, but I think that they're great areas.
