I posted on here before about a location for my wedding day pictures with in being New Years Eve and dark out...I wanted your opinons on something real quick
I got a pamphlet today with pictures of Rowan University and there is a big open area in the campus and also an old building that I thought might be cool for pictures...we where planning on going into the city for pictures but I'm nervous that it will be a pain getting there and back on new years eve and it taking to long.
What do you think of the college campus...and do any of you know if you can just go to the campus grounds for pictures? I'm assuming that the campus will be closed with it being a holiday but I hope the lights are left on around campus...I'm assuming the would have to be for safety issues.
What do you think?
Re: Wedding ?..picture location
Rowan has a very nice campus but I'd be worried about traffic. I know your reception is in Deptford (I can't remember your ceremony site) but that's a pain in the ass to get to Deptford from Glassboro during rush hour. You'll be fighting traffic on Delsea Drive and all the traffic around the mall. (Think New Year's Eve sales and people running last minute errands.)
We had our pictures done at Camden County College. (There's pictures in my blog.) I was really happy with the way they came out. I had a lot of different settings (glass walls, brick, trees). They also let us just walk into the buildings and do our pictures. The maintenance crew also were shewing people out of the way so we could get clear shots.
I'll also tell you that it is going to be cold and you and your bridal party are not going to want to be out there for more than 20 minutes. We were married in November on the coldest day of the month and also it snowed. We did all of our pictures outside in that time and did another 10 minutes or so inside the school.

Our first picture location was in Philadelphia and that seems to be even more of a hassle with all the traffic....we did drive up there this New Years eve around 6pm and no problems but it's the concern of accidents and what not. My church is less then 10 minutes from Rowan and the entrance to 55 is right near Rowan to go to Adelphias....either way we have time b/c our ceremony is over at 5 and reception doesn't start till 7:30...I figure we'll be doing pictures in the church till 5:30 or so and have and hour to do pictures once we get to the location.
I did think about the consturction but that's going on around the campus and not where the campus greens are...and with it being New Years Eve and after 5 at night I don't think there is gonna be much going on around the campus since it will be closed.
I have no clue where that one building is either...I looked at the map and found it's locations...supposedly it's been redone...we figured we would go over to the campus and check it out since we live 2 minutes from there.
Either way we have to be concerned about hitting some traffic and since we have plenty of time in between we should be fine....as far as the cold I know that is gonna be a problem. I really don't have any other in door locations that I can think off...especailly with it being a holiday....and we don't want any pictures inside Adelphias b/c we aren't big on all the Greek statues and what not.
Thanks for the advice....I'm gonna have to go over a check it out at night and see what it's like. I emailed the campus security to ask about it so I'll see what they say...anyone have any other suggestions?
Are you talking about Hollybush on Rowan's Campus? http://www.rowan.edu/hollybush/photoGallery.html
That building will be locked up really tight but you may be able to rent it for a hour or so. Most of the academic buildings will be locked also, but the Library and Bunce might be open.
We took our engagement pictures on Rowan's campus (including some outside Hollybush), email me if you want to see the set.
Eva! Yeah Hollybush is what I was talking about...I even thought it would be nice to do pictures outside of there too...I didn't even think of going inside but I'll have to find out.
I would love to see the pictures...I can't find where I have your email address but can you email them to me at nygirl07@yahoo.com
Thanks so much!!
