Our parents want to take us to the show, but I'm 100% not interested.  How do I turn them down?

If they are treating, I'd say go.  I've heard it's really good.  My parents bought us tickets after they saw it - we are going next month.  How bad can it be?

Obviously not as good as Dirty Dancing will be!

I'd go!  I've heard very good things.   But, I'm kind of a musical dork.

I love musicals, too.  I'm just not a fan of that particular music.  I guess if they want to spring for it...

My in-laws want to take us when they are in town next month. I completely do not want to go. The only (scant) interest I have in going is a girl I babysat for (oh fuuck I'm old) is dancing in it. But, I can't think of a larger waste of money than to take me and DH to a broadway show.

It's really good Amy.  My FI (who hates musicals, but suffers through sometimes for my sake) went with me and absolutely loved it.  He actually said he would see it again.  I'm not sure how you feel about the music from that time, but if you're into it, you will like it.  It was very well done.  I too, am a Broadway musical geek though.

I'd go, but I love that type of music. It's a very good show, from what I've heard, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Maybe not love it, but definitely enjoy. Even if I didn't love the music, I'd still go because a friend of mine is one of the four leads and I love to give him crap when he messes up his lines and blocking. I'll pay money to do that to him!
