Boy. I was thinking clothesline theme, with baby clothes hanging from it.
And, her husband is Italian.
Hang a bunch of onesies (white, blue, assorted colors) from a clothes line and have each guest decorate it with paints (you can buy at a store like JoAnn, etc.), stamps, stencils, etc. We did this for a friend and it was so much fun. I'll try to find pictures.
