Does anyone know a legit way to find nannies?  Was anyone one and can recommend an agency to contact?  Also, what is the "going-rate" for an infant nanny in Chicago?

Have you joined the North Side Parent's Network?  I know my sister had found a lot of useful information, as well as referrals for nannies, on it.

I'm meeting up with friends with an infant that have a nanny, so I can ask.  I got paid $12/hr. to babysit 3 days a week in Evanston just a little under two years ago if that helps at all.

Andrea..I graduated from Erikson Institute which is a child development graduate school.  If you want to, I can send the job supervisor an email with a little blurb about what you're looking for and she can post it on our school's website.  I found a nanny position that way when I was working there.  I would say the going rate is about $12-15/hr.  Let me know if you're interested.
