goin we all know how limited your brain functions are so I'm going to give you some advice: pick up a newspaper and read the classified section, look under pets, and dogs for sale are listed in alphabetical order. So Yorkshire would come towards the end of the list. (To clarifiy: Yorkies are known as yorkshire terriers)

Sellers of puppies usually "interview" potential owners so hopefully no one sane enough would sell a puppy to you.

I really don't know why it would.  I speak conversational Greek and my husband it fluent in Greek.  He came to the states when he was 12.

If you are an idiot and/or uneducated you would buy your dog from a newspaper add. If not, you would adopt or find a reputable breeder (which would cost good $$). Your friend needs to do some research. There is a transcript type thing on oprah.com from her puppy mill show...see if you can get a copy of that and let your friend read it as well.

Goin - hisrnbride was referring to finding breeders in the newspaper.  Sometimes people will try to rehome their dogs using newspaper ads.  It is horrible that people would ever give up on their dog and either try to rehome it or give it back to the shelter it came from (because it's really never the dog's fault), but that's how it is sometimes.  Getting a dog like this is the same as getting a dog from craigslist, which is not really frowned upon given appropriate circumstances.  As long as the person doing to adopting is providing a loving home, and the previous owner of the dog does not try to recoup costs in the adoption fee, it can turn a bad situation into a good one.
