Colonics anyone...?

I am thinking seriously about going for a colonics session or however you would phrase it. Any recommendations  as to where to go in Chicago. Any comments or feedback appreciated especially if you've had it done, I'm kinda scared. Thanks.

Re: Colonics anyone...?

  • Page Ryanserafin - her husband does it all the time.
  • 678, you are a pusssy.

I've had several.  I think they are fantastic.

I've gone to the Goodmorning Clinic on Belmont near Southport.  It looks like a nail salon when you walk in, but they are very sterile, and very professional.
This isn't for the self conscious, I'm just warning you.  You basically sit with your legs straddled.  They fill you with warm purified water, and tell you to hold it as long as you can.   Then, you literally sh*t your brains out.  You feel very tired afterwards, so I would have someone drive you.  If you have any other questions you want to ask me, email me at curegrl1@yahoo.com.

    You too, 678.  Feel free.

  • I find it hysterical that Pwesh said RSB's husband does this all the time like it's a bad thing.  After reading pwesh's description, I almost want to go myself.

678, tell me, did it hurt when they threw you in the padded cell in the nut house?

  • Pwesh, I'm not sure if your goal was to convert people with that description, but I am now oddly intrigued by the process.

    Me want colonic!

Supposed to say that 678 said RSB's husband does this....yup...

  • You feel lighter, less bloated, your skin feels clearer, it helps headaches.... it's amazing.

I think I might go this weekend!

    Thanks 678!

  • How long are you sitting there?  How much does it cost?  Any side effects?
  • The actual colonic is only about 30 minutes, but you have a consultation before and after.
Your first one will be about $70, packages are available :)
And really, there weren't any side effects that I've experienced.  I was just really tired for that day.  I literally took a four hour nap when I got home.
  • I don't know if I could handle that! But you do make it sound intriguin Pwesh...

I've read about some colon cleanser products that you can do at home... like just a really strong laxative pretty much to clean you out.

Generally, I try to eat a high-fiber diet, so I haven't done any colon cleansing.

Does it help prevent colon cancer, though? Cause that seems like one of the WORST kinds of cancer to get, so I'd be willing to do just about anything to prevent that.

My great aunt died from colon cancer and it was very, very bad for her toward the end.  Really horrible to see that happen to her.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my granmda doesn't get it too.  She had a colonoscopy this year and they removed a bunch of pollups.
  • Honestly, I don't know if it can prevent colon cancer, but I can honestly tell you that I felt awesome during the weeks after each time I went, and that was totally worth it for me.  And the Goodmorning clinic is very clean, and they made me feel totally comfortable.  It doesn't hurt at all, maybe a little cramping, but that's really it!
