Re: donated clothing drop-off???

  • We tend to drop off at the Salvation Army on Clybourn- you fill out one of the forms (which is good come tax season bc it is easier to price everything). If you have any formal wear or business wear- there are a few great organizations that you should separately donate those to- Dress for Success and Glass Slipper. Other nesties will have more specific info for those . . .
  • I usually go to SA or Goodwill. I've heard shady things about those boxes as well.

Do you have a church you belong to or is there a church nearby? Churches always have rummage sales or clothing donation drives and you know they're going to people who need them.

  • Have you ever heard of amvets? they will come pick up the clothes from your place.  We always give to them.
  • Are you right downtown?  There's a goodwill at Madison and Racine that's pretty convenient, although I've never noticed an outside drop box, so you may have to go when it's open.

  • Most of our stuff, we bring to the Salvation Army on Clyborne (like Ankea recommended) - but I also bring professional clothing to Bottomless Closet - they have drop-offs once a month.
