Wrigley Field question

Hi ladies!  I am a Philly nestie planning a trip out to Chicago with my DH for a Cubs-Phillies game in late August.  I have heard so many fabulous things about your city and cannot wait to visit!

So we were looking on stubhub for tickets, because we want to be in the outfield bleachers and you can't get them on the Cubs site.  On stubhub it looks like it is all general admission (which is fine with us, we love to walk around the stadium and are cool with no assigned seating).

So my question - is the entire outfield GA?  There are tickets available for $75 - does that seem right?

Thanks so much!  We cannot wait for our trip!

Re: Wrigley Field question

  • Hi,

The bleachers are general admission and I suggest getting there at least when the gates open, if not even earlier (especially for a weekend game).  You cannot, however, walk around the rest of the park from the bleachers.  You will have access to only the bleachers and its concession area.  If you're interested in seeing the rest of the park, you might want to sit in the grandstands.  $75 seems about right, since you can't get them at face value.

  • I have not sat in the bleachers in years, but I thought you could access the rest of the stadium from the bleachers due to the addition/construction that finished before the start of the 2007 season.  Maybe I am wrong.  If you sit in the bleachers, you will not be able to walk around the stadium.  Once you are in your seats, you will not want to move much or you will never get another seat.
  • Yeah don't sit in the bleachers. You cannot get to the rest of the park and frankly the view from there doesn't compare to sitting in the regular seating!
  • Thanks so much!  As we get closer I may be back for rstaurant/bar recommendations!

  • The bleachers are fun!  It all depends on what you're looking for.  In August the bleachers will be sweaty HOT!
