I just wanted to check on you and Ainsley?  You both have been on my mind.

  • That's very sweet of you!

We're doing pretty well.  The infection is gone (Thank God!) and we are just finishing the course of antibiotics.  We've had a hard time with IVs and a PIC line, but I think this IV is the last one they will have to put in (and they won't have to "stick" her anymore).  The doctors and nurses have been wonderful.... I've been soooooo spoiled here.  The nurses wait on me hand and foot.  (Always asking if they can get me anything, drinks, food, etc)....  I doubt that DH is going to continue that treatment!  Big Smile  And everyone seems to be sooo taken with Ainsley.

We are expecting to be released on Tuesday afternoon after her last antibiotic dose.  YAY!  I can't wait to get out of here and back to a normal life at home with DH and Aidan.  They come up and visit everyday, but I can't believe how MUCH I miss Aidan!!! (oh, and DH too!  haha)

thanks again for thinking about us!

    Shannon (my name too!)

  • I am so glad to hear the infection is gone. I am sure you are anxious to get home and have your family together again. I assure you, within a few weeks this will all be such a distant memory and you will soon forget it ever happened.

I'm glad you are having a good experiance with the nurses. I didn't get that when Maddox was in the nicu. I always read the girls on the preemie board who post and say how much the nurses meant to them, and how they were such angels, and so caring. I didn't get that out of our nicu nurses, they made us feel guilty about coming to see our baby, like we were the pesty visitors in their way. Sad At the time, I didn't let it get to me cause I just wanted him to get better and come home so I did what we had to do, not to mention, I didn't have the energy to fight the rules and attitudes. Looking back, I would have told them biotches about their arses. So, if you have to go through this at least the staff is treating you like you do matter.
