Need Apartment Soon!

We are looking or a new apartment, because ours is too small since I moved in. Can anyone suggest any that are not too far away from the city? We've been mainly looking in the western suburbs. I'm pretty picky, so most have not met my standards. We really want lots of closet space and a nice size kitchen that looks newer. Thanks for your help!

Re: Need Apartment Soon!

  • some more information might be useful....  how many beds/baths, what's your price range?   how far away from the city do you want to be?
    Brought to you by IVF, ICSI, limited fert, and oocyte cryopreservation.
    Because we're fancy like that.

  • Have you tried Craigslist?  You might be able to find one that you can get into quick there.
  • Or pick up a copy of the Reader next time you're in a coffee shop/diner.  Or try the Reader online.  HTH!
  • Here's some more details:

    $ 1,000 or under
    One bedroom
    Stainless Steel Appliances, Granite Countertops (might not be possible in my price range, but I can always hope)
    Fitness Center

    We've looked on Craiglist and the usual apartment websites, like apartment guide, hotpads...but I was just wondering if anyone knew of any that weren't listed in those that were nice...because they all seem to list the same few apartments over and over again. Does anyone know of any in Oakbrook Terrace, Lombard, Oak Park, Westmont, La Grange...that they would receommend?

  • I lived in Stratford Place Apartments in Bloomingdale and liked them. They were redoing half of them with granite and stainless when I left, but those are $200 more per month than the non-upgraded apartments.

  • There is one in my building. It is on the edge of the city in Albany Park though (on the brownline), and not sure it would fit your size requirements, but it's got granite countertops, ss appliances, marble bath and jacuzzi. I'm also not totally sure what they are asking for it, but I think it should be close to your range. It's a condo building, but my neighbors moved out and are looking to rent. Anyway, email me if you are interested. moreace01 at gmail.com
