Real Estate Law - Mount Sinai NY

Hello,

Is it true that after the closing on a house in this area that the previous owners have up to 30 days to get out of the house?  How does that law work? Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: Real Estate Law - Mount Sinai NY

  • I could be mistaken, but my understanding was that after you close on a house, it's yours.  Unless there is some other arrange made with the previous owners.
  • I don't know anything about this but if you are planning to move to mount sinai, we will be neighbors! ;)
  • Maybe you're confusing this with the rule that the date of closing in the contract can be up to 30 days later with no penalty. However, once you close the house is your's unless there is something stated in the contract that you have agreed on a rate per day that they must stay if they need to stay after closing.
