NJ nestie needs help pls
We are going up to visit friends in Port Jefferson Station just for the day on Saturday. DH thinks if we head up (from south jersey) in the morning, we should be fine. I told him we should take the train in, because traffic will be a nightmare. I know most summer rentals are sat. - sat. Please help me convince him that traffic will be awful & we should take the train up. The last time we were up it took us 6 hours to get home!!!!!

Anywhoo - this is the first time I've really seen posts here and look who I find!
Anyway - you can let him know that this past weekend 278 was a nightmare ( -not sure if you come verazano - 278/495) or other way. I had a lot of out of town guests that had trouble on Friday AND saturday.
The train does go straight out to port jeff - and if you have someone pick you up - then I think you'd be much better off taking the train. MUCH less than 6 hours.
The morning may be fine.. but the return might get ya!
